One way to aid the Philippines is to buy Filipino products. I know many Filipinos are split in this issue because of the colonial thinking programmed in our memory.
I mentioned my spouse about this and inform her that as much as possible we will only purchase commodities made from the Philippines but considering also the amount and quality. I think this is a great practice for us since it is actually our goal to assist our nation even in little means like this.
I admit there are some Filipino products that are not of good quality but I am also confident that there are great quantity of good commodities made locally that are really nice and as well person from another country like it.
We implemented purchasing Filipino commodities beginning from home things such as groceries, food, clothing, and other kitchen stuffs. All of our supplies are made in the Philippines but of course its original maker came from other countries.
In addition, as much as possible I just buy clothes and shoes when I am going back to the Philippines from South Korea. The prices among the two countries is absolutely in a big difference so I preferred to use my money in the Philippines because I can purchase more stuff with my cash.
I'm thinking if many Filipinos realized these thing, our economy will be more excellent every year. There are really a lot obstacles why we don't buy Filipino products like the influx of Chinese commodities in our nation that are absolutely cheaper. Also, the colonial mentality which if it is created overseas, it must be good and we learn that it is not consistently real.
You know here in Korea when you buy stuff like food you will know where it came from. Koreans preferred to purchase food originated locally. There are also many Chinese commodities here like in the Philippines but Koreans patronized products from their very own country.
I believe if our era now start to prioritize to buy Filipino commodities and teach our kids about this, the tomorrow of our country will be better in conditions of financial advancement and prosperity.
