Garden Tools at the Ready – Spring is Here

Garden Tools at the Ready Spring is Here

Spring is in the air, well at least it is for most of us in the Northern Hemisphere and it's time to get the tools out of the shed and to start thinking about all those jobs around and about the garden, some of them which have been waiting since last autumn and many new ones that seem to appear with the season of spring itself.

With the arrival of a little sunshine, a little blue sky, a few (or more than a few) drops of rain and some warmer air; everything appears to start growing almost uncontrollably! Those of you who still have lawns (and haven't already "patioed" them to death) will suddenly see the grass springing up and for the next few months it becomes a personal battle between you and your garden tools and the ever lengthening foliage!

Strimmers and trimmers at the ready and hedge cutters waiting in the wings, it's time to get to work! One might wish for something "Fantasia like" to occur, where all your garden tools come to life and do all the mowing, cutting, shredding and tidying all by themselves, accompanied by a fantastic soundtrack of course!

Alas, our back garden isn't in Disneyland and the weeds on the front lawn are definitely not animated, although they do look alarmingly 3D.

However, many of our modern garden tools are so efficient these days that they can often make light work of any overgrown garden and by the time summer is in full bloom, the barbeque is ready to crackle into life and your friends are set to descend upon you, your back yard can look truly enchanted!

Let's take a quick look at some of the Makita garden tools you may be in need of this spring:-

Strimmers For all that stubborn longer grass and the edges of pathways and driveways.

Hedge Trimmers Usually in tandem with a sturdy set of step ladders to tackle the top of the hedge that's suddenly towering into the air!

Lawn Mowers Going to need this at least twice a week at the height of summer. It's almost as if you can see the grass growing back before your eyes.

Chainsaws After deciding to tackle that ugly tree in the corner, the one that the next door neighbour is always complaining about.

Blowers You defeated the grass, the hedge and the ugly tree, but now all those cuttings need dealing with, especially off patio areas and driveways.
