Sky Angel TV Review - A Light in a Dark TV World

My wife and I have two daughters who are both all grown up with kids of their own, but when they were little my wife and I would do everything we could to protect them from seeing and hearing things on television that we didn't think were appropriate.

TV has become a staple in the American home and each year it seems like families spend more and more hours watching TV in the evenings. In fact, it's not just an evening activity anymore. Nowadays, families have multiple TV sets and they seem to have them on as many hours of the day as they're off. TV sets have a place in the family room, the kitchen, the den and the bedroom. Some people wake up to the TV and others go to sleep to the TV, while still others do both. It would be an understatement to say that TV is a big part of people's lives.

As our daughters were growing up, we monitored what they watched very closely. There were certain shows we didn't allow them to see. In fact, if they couldn't watch it, then neither did we. We wanted to set an example by what we did, not just by what we said. So as we paid the cable bill each month, it became obvious to us that were we were watching less and less TV shows and less channels overall. But the cable costs were steadily going up. We finally reached a point where we canceled our cable service and went "TV Free".

At first, we were worried that the kids wouldn't be able to do without cable, but they weren't affected much which was very surprising to both my wife and I. We explained to the girls why we got rid of the cable, and they understood even though they were still a bit young. We went cable free for seven years, filling the gaps with the occasional movie rental, mostly family-friendly stuff. Without the TV to distract them, the girls did more constructive things, playing with toys, playing board games, playing outside, riding their bikes, things that kids should be doing.

After seven years without much TV, other than the movie rentals, we started to look around for an alternative to cable, but something clean and family-friendly. We still did not want our girls to be exposed to foul language, extreme violence, or women wearing very little on TV. That's not the example we wanted our girls to follow.

It didn't take us long to find the solution to our searching. We had heard of Sky Angel TV at some point in the recent past, but we didn't know what was required to get their service. As it turned out, this was a family-friendly, faith-based TV service that required a satellite dish and a satellite receiver in order to get their programming. So we found out how much it would cost us and started saving our pennies, looking forward to being able to order the needed equipment.

Fast forward about 10 years now and Sky Angel is still a part of our home, even though our daughters have long since married and moved away! A satellite dish and receiver are no longer required to get their lineup of great channels. IPTV is now the source of Sky Angel's signal.

Over the past few years, IPTV has developed three different entertainment packages. The Family Package, the Faith-Based Package, and the Combination Package which includes programming from both the Family and Faith-Based Packages. If you are looking for a safe, clean alternative to cable, then any one of these three packages will give you and your family exactly what you're looking for.

So if you're in the same boat we were in and want to provide safe TV for your family, check out Sky Angel TV. I think you'll like what they offer. I know we still do!
