Dieting to Lose Weight – The Do and The Don'ts

Dieting to Lose Weight The Do and The Don'ts

Do's

1. Make a Commitment Towards Changing Your Lifestyle

In every single thing that we do in life, there needs to be a certain degree of commitment. To start a diet plan as well there needs to be a commitment. When you change your dietary lifestyle, you are committing yourself towards a long term plan for a given weight maintenance. Weight maintenance can be either gaining or losing weight. Give yourselves time duration which is comfortable to be in that changing period. Too much or too little time can dampen the process of achieving results through diet plans.

2. Work in a group

It is always fun to have a group of individuals having the same diet plan working towards results together. Pick those who are targeting the results that are similar to yours. Offer moral support to your group members. They might certain things that you might not know and vice versa. Share knowledge, stories and laughter together. There are many communities out there that you can join to achieve results. Be a part of these communities and have FUN working together.

Don't s

1. Do not Skip Meals

Many people commonly make a mistake of skipping meals. Dieting doesn't mean to skip meals. Its rather altering the size or menu itself. BREAKFAST play the most important role among those three meals in a day. Skipping breakfast can be disastrous. When you skip breakfast, you will be extremely hungry and tend to eat more during the rest of the day. Breakfast can be broken down into two words "Break" and "Fast" which can be derived as breaking fast after several hours of sleep in the night. Breakfast is crucial as it is the first meal of the day. It is always a good idea to have a high protein and high fiber breakfast with a combination of eggs, cereals, low fat milk etc.

2. Do not Avoid Exercise

Dieting works hand in hand with exercise. Dieting alone won't be able to cut down calories as it is unhealthy, unsustainable and you will not be able to enjoy your favorite food. If exercise is combined with a diet plan, you can still enjoy your favorite food in lesser quantities. DON'T FORCE yourself to do a exercise that you do not enjoy such as the treadmill as for some this can be pretty boring. Perhaps, you can always join a fitness centre where workouts are done in a group rather than individually.
