Shah Alam is just one of the cities in the thirteen states of Malaysia. Though not as popular as its neighbor and the country's capital, Kuala Lumpur, the city boasts of a rich Malay culture amidst a growing urban community bound to capture the heart of any tourist. A wide variety of attractions fill the city from historic museums to lavish Shah Alam resorts and parks.

The most popular attraction in Shah Alam is probably the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque, commonly known as the Blue Mosque because of its majestic blue dome. The remarkable structure is a display of both Malay and Islamic architecture and is considered the country's biggest mosque, accommodating as many as 16,000 worshipers.

Providing a colorful display of Selangor's history is Muzium Sultan Alam Shah. The biggest museum in the state, it houses impressive displays of historical artifacts and miniatures of Malaysia's old colonial infrastructures.

If you are up for a scenic nature trip, Taman Pertanian may just be the place for you and your family. Taman Pertanian is the city's agricultural park, enclosing several gardens that divide a wide variety of plants and trees. A small zoo is also located within the park. Its main attraction is the Four Season House, which simulates a picturesque display of the different seasons.

A resort in Shah Alam such as The Club at The Saujana is also an ideal destination for some leisure-filled activities, whether you are with friends or family. The resort offers a luxurious range of recreational facilities that include a swimming pool, spa, and golf courses that would be perfect for your group.

To complete your trip, the city also includes several shops and malls such as the Shah Alam City Centre Mall and Plaza Shah Alam for great selections of retail finds and souvenirs.
