How to Get To Liverpool This Christmas

Liverpool is a fantastic place for Christmas shopping, with Liverpool One and the Whitechapel high street offering plenty of stores to find what you need.

Not only that, but with the Christmas Market, the John Lennon Tribute Season, a packed out calendar of Premier League football and a number of race meets, there are endless reasons why you may be heading to Liverpool over the festive season.

Although you can get to Liverpool by car, plane and ferry, one of the easiest ways to get to the city and travel around once you're there is by train.

Here are five reasons why you should consider travelling through Merseyside by train.

1. There are lots of stations, located throughout the region, so if you're on the outskirts of the city and want to get in quickly to do some last few bits of shopping, train is extremely convenient.

2. Because they don't have to deal with traffic caused by too many vehicles or accidents on the road, trains are often the quickest way to get into the city.

3. Railcards mean that if you need to be in Liverpool a lot over the Christmas period, maybe for work, travelling in needn't be expensive.

4. Once you've made it into town by train you'll that Merseyside stations are conveniently located for the main attractions in the city. Even if your local line takes you to a different part of the city, you'll only be a short train journey away from the right one.

5. Christmas city centre parking is notoriously bad all over the country and it can be difficult in Liverpool as well, especially at peak times. Travelling by train means you won't have to face the hassle of trying to find a good parking spot near where you want to go.

So, if you plan on visiting the city this Christmas, why not travel into Liverpool Lime Street or Liverpool Central stations and explore what's going on this winter?
