Now anyone who knows how to post a blog can create their own diet plan and watch to see how long it will be before Snopes discredits it.

In spite of constant diet reform, or perhaps because of it, some diet myths are so deeply engrained that they are still accepted as health fact instead of dietary stumbling block. A few of the most common, ludicrous and long lasting fat loss plans are busted!

Love Handles Lost

If I used the thigh master every day for 10 years it would still fail to guarantee celluloid reduction from my thighs. The muscles would become more shapely, but fat loss CANNOT be targeted.

To Sleep or Exercise

When faced with the prospect of a quality night's rest and skimping to hit the gym, dieters are apt to pick exercise thinking it is the better choice.

In the long run, they are shooting themselves in the foot. Sleep needs to be a priority of a healthy lifestyle supported by diet and exercise. Sleep deprivation leads to illnesses like type two diabetes, increased stress, depression and ultimately more weight gain.

Find time for the gym by cutting out other activities. Sleep is not optional.

Fat Burning Foods

One of the most persistent diet myths out there is the notion of a super food with the ability to burn fat. Every few years, new fat loss plans promoting new food selections surface.

They are all false. No food has the ability to disintegrate fat no matter how much of it is consumed.

Dieters need to be made aware so they don't fall prey to common diet mistakes that only frustrate and prevent real weight loss. Use common sense when making fat loss plans, and double check the information source to ensure the advice is worth taking.
