Cricket Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first, south Africa started slowly and lost Kallis at very early for duck.

It has been a top class effort by Pak. Amla has stood tall amidst ruins to help SA construct a somewhat respectable total. Pakistan looked a completely different outfit on the field today, with Shoaib firing on all cylinders right at the top. He was supported superbly by Riaz and the spinners who chipped in with wickets in the middle, Duminy looked solid for a brief while but once he was gone, the middle order crumbled. de Villiers was extremely unfortunate to have been given out stumped while replays confirmed that his backfoot was planted well inside the crease while the bails were clipped off. Afridi was imaginative in his captaincy and did well to keep shuffling the bowlers and not let the batsmen settle at any point in time.
Cricket South Africa was able to manage score 228/9 in 50 overs, Pakistan was able to score 226/9, South Africa won by 2 Runs, this will be south Africa first Closest Victory Against Pakistan.

Botha: It was another cliffhanger and we were lucky that it went our way. Alam played really well, they set the game up nicely and we were lucky that we are the happier side at the end of the day. Amla is a world class player and his innings was world class.
Afridi:The body language of the Proteas was good, their fielding was top class and they backed each other. Our batting approach was negative and fielding is our major concern too.
Hashim Amla: Had a good start and the wicket deteriorated a bit, we did well to score 228. At one stage, I didn't know what's a good score but when the message came from the dressing room that 220 would be a good score, we were allowed to settle down and deal in singles.
