Five Best Romantic Hot Spots for Summer Loving by:Laura Dubois

Las Vegas

If you're looking for the glitzy and glamorous kind of romance, on a shoe-string budget, then it's cheap flights to Las Vegas that you want. In the 'Neon City' take your sweetheart for a moonlit dinner cruise on one of the gondolas where chocolate and champagnes packages are available. If you're looking for a romantic view, then the observation deck of the Stratosphere Tower and the view of the Bellagio fountains from the Eiffel Tower are hard to beat. And of course, if love really blossoms you can always get married at one of the many wedding chapels that are found in most of the main hotels and all around the Las Vegas strip.

New York

The 'Big Apple' offers plenty for the amorous couple, so why not grab two flights to New York and surprise your other half with a romantic break? Start your day off with a stroll over to Central Park where you can wander arm in arm and watch the New Yorkers come out to play. Once you've worked up your appetite, head over to the boathouse restaurant, which has an outdoor grill in warmer months, or if you really want to impress your true love, then the most romantic option is the Lakeside Dining Room which has a great selection of seafood. To finish your day, hop on a paddle boat at Central Park Lake boathouse and make some waves on the water together.

Rome

Hundreds of couples take flights to Italy each year just to see Rome; after all, it is one of the most romantic cities in Europe, if not the world. The Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain are the focus for many visitors and with good reason; the fountain is looked down upon by a crescent of Corinthian columns, while the steps are a giant stone staircase that curves up from the Piazza di Spagna. In the evening, why not head for the opera; it's the perfect reason to get dressed up. Start the night with a glass of prosecco and finish in one of the city's many wonderful gelaterias.

Venice

Along with Rome, Venice is also a highly romantic city. As a popular tourist destination, Venice can be busy all year round, but don't let that put you off. The secret to avoiding the crowds is to spend at least one night there. Many of the visitors to Venice are day trippers, and once they've gone home you get a much quieter version of the city. A gondola ride through the city's canals is one of the most iconic things you can do as a couple in Venice, so don't miss out on the chance to take one!

Cape Town

Cape Town and the Cape region are famous for wine growing and scenic vineyards, which make for an ideal break for a romantic couple. The most popular areas where you can try wine tasting are Paarl, Robertson, Constantia and Wellington - although there are more than 120 different wine estates to choose from.
