The state Tamil Nadu is always counted under the most visited tourist destination of the country and is also having the wide range of landscape that allures the tourists. The sensuous beaches, majestic mountains, rain forest that offers the perfect vacation deatination. Chennai is the capital of the state and is culturally very attractive.

Other most visited destinations of the state are Rameshwaram, Coimbatore and Kanyakumari. The capital city Chennai is counted amongst the fourth largest city of the country and is fastest growing. Earlier the city was popular as Madras and the city was famous for the Marina Beach. Madurai is also the most popular pilgrimage destination of the country.

Wildlife in Tamil Nadu:

Tamil Nadu is the state that is rich in both flora and fauna with having the presence of major wildlife sanctuaries as Madhumalai and Annamalai situated in the Western Ghats. The Indian wildlife is covered with the mixed deciduous forest. The southern part of the country is having certain variety of species like tigers, bisons, monkeys and deer.

The most adventurous breeding ground for the animals such as cormorants, herons, egrets open billed stroke, spoonbill and white ibis, little grebe, Indian Moorhen, Black Winged Stilts and the migratory ducks and occasionally Grey Pelicians is the Vedanthangal Water Birds Sanctuary. The time considered to visit the park is between November to February. For the conservation of the reptiles like crocodiles and aligators there is the Crocodile Bank in Tamil Nadu.
