You will not find such daring and intellectually intriguing architecture as you do here embodied in Rotterdam's stylish apartments, office buildings, hotels, and attractions.
A quality very distinct that permeates Rotterdam unlike many other places is the atmosphere of it's people; there is a very noticeable shift in mentality that shows it's progress as most people breathe optimism. The attitude is that of moving forwards, progressing, and not focusing on the negative. A great city to surround yourself with people who will uplift and revitalize your spirit.
As with many cities in The Netherlands, Rotterdam has a very interesting night life, areas are varied and divided through subculture. The main market square Blaak is where you'll find mostly business, law and economic students. However the most lively and entertaining bar area in Rotterdam would be in the town Nieuwe Binnenweg, which is filled with easy going, open minded, and friendly individuals. You'll find an amazing culture surrounded by the creative disciplines - musicians, designers, art students.
The club scene in Rotterdam is literally world renowned and has been a hub for changing and leading club culture globally. It is within the club and bar scene that you'll find the most diversity in terms of sub-culture, each bar and club cater to a different type of person - as such you'll have no problem finding one that suits you.
As with all locations in The Netherlands, having smaller amounts of marijuana on your possession is tolerated and legal. You'll find that many of the coffee shops sell pre-rolled joints/bongs. It should also be noted that smoking tobacco is illegal in all food and beverage establishments.
