Shed building plans, for yourself or for profit

In times like these when many of us are either out of work or working short time, money can be very tight. For a practical person though, there is much that can be done. A lot of people in this position often consider the internet as a possible way forward, and spend hard earned money on the latest get rich scheme from so called Guru's, only to end up disappointed and disillusioned. Promises of instant riches are usually shown for what they really are.

Instead of falling for what are often little more than scams, the practical person is more down to earth. He or she might 'dabble' with the internet, but their real passion is often hands on. Practical people have many talents. Some might fix cars, do gardening, or be a good decorator etc. If you're going to consider part or full time hands on work there are basic things that you need to know.

- If possible, work from home. By doing this you avoid the need to rent premises, this is cash in your pocket.

- Avoid expensive advertising. Instead, stick to free ads and postcards or similar in shop windows. Build a 'word of mouth' reputation by giving good service at a decent price and keep any promises you make!

- Choose a part time occupation that is not swamped by competition. There's not much point in starting a decorating business on a street where everyone else is a decorator!

The best bet is to find a niche that you know something about that is not overrun by competition. I've found a niche that appears to fit the bill perfectly providing that you like to work with wood. This niche can easily produce either a part time or full time income. The costs involved are minimal, just basic tools really, many of which you probably already own.
