French Nails - What's All The Fuss About?

A set of lovely looking, manicured french nails are a style that will never be outdated. You only need to look at the women around you, or on the silver screen to see that a french manicure is something that is well received by anyone. They give your nails a very clean, refined look that look good no matter what setting you find yourself in.

French Nails Explained

A white polish is applied directly to the tips of each nail, with a pink flesh-colored polish applied to the remaining part of the nails. While one can always get artificial tips to make the look, not everyone has the proper nails to pull off french nails. This style is best for naturally moderate length and wide nail base.

Preparation

*Make sure to clean any leftover polish from the previous styling.

*Thoroughly clean, wash and trim your nails to the desired length.

*Place nail tip guides on each nail, making sure to follow the natural lines of each nail bed.

*Apply a thin coat of base coat, to prepare them for the finishing polish.

*Next put a light coat of white, or off-white polish on the tips of each nail and allow to dry.

*Brush whole length of your nails with pink, or beige polish and allow to dry.

*Finally put your top finishing coat on and look at your new, elegant french nails.

Maintenance

If you made sure to put a good top coat on, the style should last for quite a while. The trick is to try and apply a very thin finishing coat on each night, or every other night if you can. Also, be sure to keep your nails clean. Any dirt, or grime will be accentuated ten-fold as french-tip nails are meant to look clean and natural.
