Any Successful Top Blogger has a returning fan base and this means they having a growing influence as their audience grows. Many new bloggers try to just get an article that people will read and buy something, but Top Bloggers write content that people want to read and come back for more.
Of course they monetize their blog, but they dont mess around with an article long sales pitch and risk losing their audience. If you want to see an increase of visitors to your blog, then start producing quality content, and quit putting out junk no one wants to read.
