Things That I Have Found Which Work To Help My Fear Of Air Travel.

My fear of air travel gets worse the more I think about it, so I have a number of different ways to avoid the fear and concentrate on other thing. Obviously my fear remains, but by busying my mind with something else I'm able to keep my fears at bay at least until we have left the terminal and got into the air.

My fears are worse just when I've sat down on the plane and everyone is starting to strap themselves in. All the bits that come before seem so much like routine. Checking in and going through security doesn't worry me at all, and even at that point the fear of flying doesn't come into it at all. It's only when we've gone past the point of no return, when it seems like even I wanted to get off of flights from Philadelphia to Amsterdam there would be no way for me to do it. This is the point at which I start to worry. This is the point at which I begin to fear for my life.

But, whether you're taking flights from Philadelphia to Seattle or flights from New York to Tampa there are some simple tips that I've discovered which can keep my fear at bay and prevent me from going crazy. Firstly, I keep myself occupied. I take music and I close my eyes. It's when I'm focusing on what's going on around me that I start to worry. I try to avoid running through every horrible scenario in my head and instead try to fall asleep and imagine landing at my destination. I know that the plane is safe, it's just when my mind drifts too much I start to worry. So don't let your fears end your holiday before it starts. Just distract yourself!
