The city is named after Lake Rotorua, which is another of its most important attractions. This volcanic lake is best used for fishing, kayaking or windsurfing. The traditional arts and crafts of the Maori can be experienced first hand, as the villagers show their skill by going about their business regardless of the curious travelers. You can also attend a concert or shop for some souvenirs to remind you of your trip to Rotorua.
