Group Health Insurance Plan Is A Great Option

There are so many people struggling these days. It is hard to imagine that so many that had secure jobs just a couple years ago are now living in tent towns with very little hope in sight. Those of us who still have jobs have seen benefits cut well below the standards of just a few years ago. Insurance benefits are being cut drastically while pension benefits have decreased so much, people are seeking second jobs to secure their retirement future. Working citizens need help with insurance most of all. Luckily, there are still some good options that can benefit both the companies and the employees that work for them.

There are numerous plans available for health insurance, but for businesses there is really only one that makes sense, the group health insurance plan. Compared to individual plans, group packages provide a low cost solution without diminishing the quality of the health care you receive. Third party individual insurance can potentially cost the employee two to five times more each month to get basically the same coverage. Additionally the deductibles on individual coverage are way more expensive. If you ever lost your job you may have had to use Cobra insurance. Cobra is a perfect example of paying more for the same coverage.

Of course not everything is as good as it sounds with these plans; there are some drawbacks. For instance, group plans tend to limit some benefits in order to pay for the more popular benefits. If one employee has certain needs that the rest of the employees do not need, there is a good chance that individual will have to pay more out of pocket for certain medical procedures. Dental insurance, on the other hand, is pretty much universal, meaning that all plans are the same across the board no matter where you get your insurance.

Make no mistake times are tough these days. You can never be too grateful for having a job in this day and age. Luckily those of us who do have jobs still have the enormous benefits of group health insurance. Can you even begin to imagine a world where we all had to have individual health insurance? We would all go broke paying for it or we would just do without and go broke from medical expenses. Worse yet, we could be denied medical assistance at the door of the hospital.
