Buying websites and selling them for a profit, or what others like to call "website flipping", is slowly becoming one of the most popular and serious methods to make money on the internet in 2010. The "website flipping" concept is simple, basically you have to buy established websites that already bring revenue, keep them for a while, and sell them for a much better price after a short period of time, usually less than two months.
There are many places that you can use to find websites that you can buy for a good price.To name a few: flippa. (one of the most popular ones). ebay, and warriorforum.A few things to have in mind when buying an established website is how much traffic it has per day (the seller should provide google analytics details or screenshots), how much monthly revenue it produces (the site should be at least two months old, so that you can see past monthly revenue and make sure it is stable and will continue to remain so), and the price that the seller is asking for the website. (usually if an established website is generating $50 monthly revenue in adsense, the right price to pay is maximum 12 times that amount, which is about $600 for the site in our example.)
The idea behind website flipping is to buy a site that is already making some money, and growing that revenue by doing some promotion to the site (link building, social bookmarking promotion, article or press release promotion) in a couple of months.Promoting the website will bring more exposure/traffic which means you will be making more revenue, allowing you to sell the site for at least twice the price you have paid for it after only two months.
