Be a Hero - End Child Poverty

Make Be a Hero is a US/Canadian and Australia charity that runs orphenages, schools and small self sufficient enterprizes in the third world. Be a hero aims to rid the world of suffering children and creates its projects in order to combat child slavery, poverty, starvation and child soldiers. Be a hero has an 100% model which means that 100% of the money you donate goes into the project not a cent goes into over heads or admin.

Be a Hero has many projects in some of the worlds most war torn places such as Burinidi, Ghana, Uganda, Liberia, Northen India, Zambia, Mozabique, Kenya, Ecudor, Brazil and Cambodia. The projects aim to create safe havens and oppportunities for children in these regions. Be a Hero offers the orphens a higher standard of living and the opportunity to grow up without fear of being exploited and abused.

Their is still a lot to be done however with over 150 million homeless children, 250 million child slaves and 175 million exploited children (working for little wages), 2 million children have been killed as child soldiers and between 10 - 14 million children are victims of the sex trade. Be a Hero aims to combat this and fight againdt child poverty and global suffering.

Some of Be a Hero's Projects include the Make Poipet Safe Haven Home. The Safe Haven Home Acts as a safe house for 24 hour at risk children as well as a source of funding for community development. This center teaches children life skills as well as a high standard of education and educates the local community on economic and sustainable issues. The poipet projects hopes to build:

Dormitory-style building for 24 children (and their caregivers) $35,000.00; bathrooms (two) $7,000.00; well $16,800.00; power $2,100.00; sewer $2,100.00

The architecture of the children's home is simple, yet elegant, following traditional Cambodian style with an open feel. Each home will be able to house twenty four children.

The construction of this village will save the lives of children, provide them with love, security and safety, ensure they attend school, and transform them from orphans to leaders.
