The question asked was simple. If you were given 500 to spend on whatever you wanted, what would you do? The question was asked during a great online bingo promotion that took place at Mecca Bingo called Mecca Moments and celebrated true family values.
The results of the survey showed that even during these very difficult financial times, members at Mecca Bingo would much rather spend the cash on their families instead of saving it or paying back some of their debts. Of those players quizzed, 34% said that they would buy something for the entire family in order to show their appreciation. One Mecca Bingo member said that he would actually throw a big family party so he can actually see all 60 family members under the same roof for the first time. Another one said, she would take her mother and daughter for a join 60th, 40th and 16th birthday celebration while another football lover said that he would take his son's football team for a training session at Old Trafford in Manchester.
Having said that, 30% of those asked, said that they would spend the money on a pampering session. One lady said that should would spend it all on a new wardrobe, while another said that she would fill the bath with champagne and dive straight in. Another one said that they would book a recording studio to record their own album.
Of the rest, 19% said that they would spend it on a holiday, 7% said they would use the money to ease the cost of Christmas shopping, 2% said they would clear their debts while only 1% said they would give the money away on charity.
Angus Nisbet, Gaming Director at Meccabingo.com said: "Many of the responses were about looking after their loved ones or doing something nice for someone else. Even when finances are tough, people will still spend on their families," he says. "Indulgence isn't just about treating yourself, it's about making other people happy."
