Over 50's Travel

So you have booked your dream holiday, the bags are packed and you are finally getting the chance to embark on a holiday that you never could when the children were young. Have you found travel insurance? Most travel insurance companies simply draw the line for over sixty fives, refusing to insure them. This is because they fear for over expensive insurance claims while you are travelling, as the risk of breaks and illness can be greater as you get into late life. But with over nine million people in the UK aged over sixty five, is this not a bit unfair? A lot of people decide to travel the world upon retirement, so surely these companies are missing a trick. Healthier lifestyles and longer life expectancies mean we can indulge in visiting places that we want as we get older. There are lots of us who are in our seventies and still exercise regularly, so why are we being penalised? We may be old, but also could be a lot fitter than out twenty something equivalents.

The best advice is to seek a company who offer cover specifically for you age range. There are lots of companies online who will cover you, and if you shop around you are more likely to find a good bargain. For more frequent travellers, the best idea is to take out an Annual Travel Insurance policy, as these can work out much cheaper in the long run. And most of all enjoy your trip!
