subject: Brutal Parents Need To Be Punished [print this page] Being a social worker has its challenges, I have been a social worker for over 5 years now but I still get emotionally involved with every case. I still find it very difficult not to get emotional when there are children involved, especially when its babies and toddlers.
As each year passes my cases are getting more and more shocking and heartbreaking. I still find it hard to believe when I see young kids with bruises and havent been fed for only god knows how long its been.
I am currently dealing with a case where the mother beat up her son up and then threw him down the stairs. Luckily the boy survived the fall but unfortunately his leg broke and has got few broken ribs. The mother is denying everything and Im finding it hard to prove that she done it. Im trying to get the people that deal with family law in Kent involved in this case as I cant handle it on my own.
I also have many other cases that are similar to that one but the abuser isnt as brutal as that boys mother. I have never seen such horrific scene in my 5 years as a social worker. I couldnt sleep, every time I closed my eyes I see that little boy and what he went through at such a young age.
Today is the mothers court hearing and I will go there to make sure she gets what she deserves but no sentence would ever be enough to punish her for what she has done to her son.
