Recommended Traveler ETIQUETTE

Traveling is always a welcome companion to temporarily escaping a busy lifestyle. Some would even travel just to get away from too much emotional drama in life. Rewarding yourself by going on a vacation gives you an array of opportunities and deeper understanding not just of your life but how other people in the world live theirs.

However, some travelers do not consider being cautious with their actions, especially in keeping their trashes. They may be committed with their travel in a manner that they are more than willing to explore even the hidden secrets of their destination but they do not commit in maintaining the beauty of these places for they leave marks and scraps that ruin nature's limpidness.

In my years of going around the world, I've encountered and observed unusual habits by other travelers. Being far from their home sweet home, most travelers treat the land they visit as like a big trash can where they can throw garbage anywhere.

It might be advisable in the wilderness to leave traces in case we get lost, but throwing garbage in the good soil of the earth only adds to the increasing problems of the environment. It's undeniable how global warming can destroy the planet where we live in. It's already a fact that the Earth is slowly losing its beauty and we are the sole reason for this decline.

Due to the increasing environmental crisis, tourism industries are getting affected by the depleting number of tourists in certain areas. Recently, we're heard of hurricanes and endless storms striking Brazil and China, and some areas in Asia and North America seem to be losing their grip on the maintenance of their once beautiful ecosystem. All of these are the outcome of our every action in disregarding our concern for the environment.

Open your eyes - everyone needs to open their eyes to see the harmful effects of the mistakes we do whenever we travel. Nations and governments have already provided laws to manage the preservation of the environment. Thing is, these laws would be useless if we, the citizens, fail or refuse to follow the rules that are meant to save the remaining beauty of the world.

Keep in mind that the protection of our planet lies in our own hands. And these hands can also be the cause of the world's devastation that is why we have to be conscious and cautious of our actions. Bear in mind that every time you visit a wonderful place, "take nothing but pictures leave nothing but footprints kill nothing but time".
