Sugar Baby Glider - Baby Sugar Gliders

Stages of a sugar baby glider:

Stage 1 - Pregnancy

You will notice that the female sugar glider has a small lump right beneath her pouch.

Stage 2 - Tail Hanging Out Of Pouch

You will know that your glider has a baby for sure when you see the babies tail hanging out of the mothers pouch.

Stage 3 - Birth

Approximately 72 days later the mother will give birth to the baby. The baby sugar glider will be hairless.

Stage 4 - One Week

One week after birth you should see that he/she has increased size by about 4x and has grown a small amount of hair.

Stage 5 - Two Weeks

At this point most sugar baby gliders will still have their eyes closed and their fur will be getting slightly darker daily.

Stage 6 - Three Weeks

At 3 weeks the sugar baby gliders eyes should now be open and he/she should start to become active and grow rapidly.

Stage 7 - Four Weeks

Now your sugar glider should almost be at adult size. Its coat should be a silvery color and it should also be getting very thick.

Stage 8 - Five Weeks

Fur on tail now coming in thick.Should be very active now: jumping, hopping, gliding and all of that other stuff that sugar gliders do.

Sugar baby gliders must be watched very closely to ensure that they are being cared for properly at all times. The stages listed above are simply guidelines and should not be followed as if it were the gospel. If you spot any odd development in your sugar baby glider look into it.
