This traditional festival held at the Charleston Civic Center in downtown Charleston West Virginia. Authors, publishers and book vendors from all over the country travel to the West Virginia Book festival to show off the best selling and latest books.
The West Virginia Book Festival will be held October 10 & 11, 2009. Each year the festival offers something for book lovers of all ages and interests. In the Festival Marketplace, there will be a special section just for children, a used book sale, meet the author events, workshops and panel discussions. Admission to the festival is free.
In addition to the other events at the West Virginia Book Festival the Moonbeam Childrens Book Awards will be honoring the best childrens books of 2009. All Moonbeam award-winning books will be on display throughout the festival. Many of the award-winning authors and illustrators will be on hand to meet the public and autograph books. There will be over 100 books from an entire range of childrens topics. During a ceremony on Saturday October 11, award-winning authors will receive the Moonbeam Awards medal from 2 to 5 p.m.
