subject: Anti Wrinkle Treatments - How Led Light Can Help To Renew Your Skin [print this page]

One of the latest breakthroughs in skin care is the so-called LED treatments which uses LED light to renew and revive your skin. While there's been a variety of wrinkle treatments in recent years this definitely holds a lot of promise and because its non invasive its safe and is part of a technology that is still in its infancy.

LED stands for Light Emitting Diode and its made up of a semi conductor device with a crystal that emits light when an electrical current gets passed through it. The wavelength of this light is of particular interest in skin care because by combining phosphors it can produce a full spectrum of light. This can, in theory, penetrate deep into your skin and spark the renewal of collagen.

When it comes to aging and the effects of aging on your skin then the one thing that always comes up is collagen. When the collagen structures start collapsing then your skin will start showing wrinkles. Your skin needs to constantly renew itself and when you are young this happens without any real problems. As you get older however, a number of things cause the skin to stop renewing itself and collagen tends to disappear.

What most wrinkle creams try to do is to penetrate deep under the skin and to help repair the collagen structure that support firm skin. The problem is that creams can't really penetrate that deep and tends to be very ineffective. With LED however, the light on that particular wavelength can penetrate deep under the skin and help to revive the skin from deep down inside. LED is proven to increase DNA and RNA activity and also increase the ATP (cellular energy) on a cellular level.

Whether it will work for everyone remains to be seen but the one thing that is very positive is that its treating the problem on a cellular level from the inside out. More creams and more topical treatments simply aren't working as well as many of us expect it to. Although creams have many other benefits this is most certainly a worthwhile option. Plastic surgery may become a thing of the past and if you compare the costs, then this definitely makes a lot of sense.
