Facebook and Other Social Media Aren't Just for Socializing Anymore-The Online Social-Selling

The Social Media Marketing potential is bigger than just posting what you fixed for dinner last night. But, your dinner menu makes it a lot more interesting and fun.

If you think that FaceBook is just a fad, then you would be very wrong! It seems that Facebook is the number 2 ranked site in terms of traffic on the Internet, only second to Google, YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world.

So, what does all this mean to the average person? Well, of the over 3 billion people on Facebook, I would venture to say that many, if not most of them, own some kind of business or service that they would love to "sell" to others, even if it's just their opinion!

Before you start screaming at me, "how dare you suggest that I use my personal friendships and connections to "sell" to my friends"! YIKES! Calm down.

I'm going to go out on a limb, here, and say that if you would really be honest, you would love everybody that is in your Facebook Friends list, or following your Twitter or Blog, to purchase or subscribe to your product, service, event or opinion. Hey, there's nothing wrong with that. A bigger question is, "do you want to hear about theirs"? Now, that's the trade-off, isn't it?

The real problem is that many have gone about it the wrong way.

Reality check - the Internet and the marketing potential associated with it is the fastest growing, and most promising, form of sales media that the world has ever seen since Television. According to Facebook's own Press Room, there are over 500 million users (and growing) and over 50% of them log-in on any given day. Now, that's potential.

Don't get me wrong, I think that we need to be genuine. I love staying in touch with my "friends" and hearing all about their life, I really do. But, as someone who has a business, I would be a fool not to take advantage of the marketing potential that exists with the Social Media Marketing phenomenon. And you would, too.

Bottom line is, let's do it the right way, with integrity.

"Social-Selling" doesn't have to offensive. There are credible, proven methods that can you can learn to expose your friends, and others, to your business or passion.
