The Secrets to a Peaceful Traveling Experience

The Secrets to a Peaceful Traveling Experience

Here are some ways you can isolate yourself from the unwanted chatter of your traveling companions.

It's the holiday season, and that means many of us will be traveling to far-off locations to visit the people we love. Thanks to cost cuts by the airlines and other transportation companies, many folks will be boarding planes, trains, and buses to get to their destination. Others will be using mass transit, or simply sharing a ride. However you get there, odds are you'll expect a certain level of peace and quiet en route. (That's not too much to ask, right?)

So what happens if the guy next to you wants to engage you in conversation? Or, what if you're in the car with your annoying Uncle Burt and he wants to yammer on about his sciatica? You could be polite and nod your way through either of these scenarios. The trouble is that being nice may lead to even more conversation. No one wants to appear rude (well, most of us don't).

There is a way around all of thisthe avoidance of the overly chatty, that is. After all, you may not be able to control who sits next to you, but you can control your overall traveling experience. All you've got to do is know how to use technology to your advantage.

If you have the right combination of tech at hand when you travel, you may feel as though you are completely alone and the rest of the world has simply melted away. That's our hope. So, here's what you need in order to build your virtual isolation booth.
