A Second Look At Chiropractic As An Effective Health Care Discipline

It is primarily all about spinal manipulationIt is primarily all about spinal manipulation. It is not as easy as it sound, but with our pool of chiropractic experts, we assure our patients the cure that mainstream medical practitioners could not offer them, said Dr. Philip Cordova, a well-known chiropractic expert in the Houston area, when asked about the secret of chiropractic treatment.

Founded in the early 1890s by D.D, Palmer, chiropractic care as a field of healthcare discipline has since grown to be one of the most popular treatment strategies for common conditions such as headaches, muscle pain, sciatica, neck pain, and back pain. This healthcare discipline puts extra focus on diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disorders within the musculoskeletal system such as the spinal section. Chiropractic practitioners operate under the given hypothesis that most disorders within the musculoskeletal system affects the rest of the human body through the nervous system.

It is absolutely a good thing that there is a growing global clamor on going organic and all natural. That, for most of us chiropractic practitioners, is just the tip of the iceberg, so to speak, added Dr. Cordova. He further noted that chiropractic employs various equally relevant principles and philosophies to finding cure for common health conditions.

Modern chiropractic philosophy essentially includes the principles of holism, conservatism, and homeostasis. Holism basically assumes that health is gravely impacted by everything that surrounds a person. This includes not just his physical environment, but his spiritual or existential dimensions as well.

Conservatism, on the other hand, mainly considers the impact of mainstream clinical interventions over the few benefits that they provide. This type of philosophy discourages medical surgery and medication to minimize risk. It basically promotes a non-invasive approach. Homeostasis is another chiropractic philosophy that simply favors the bodys inherent ability for self-healing.

Chiropractors are often categorized as straights and mixers. Straight chiropractic practitioners favor an approach that focuses on the chiropractor's perspective and the treatment model to cure health conditions. Mixers, however, put focus more on the patient and his health conditions.
