Touring London

London is the perfect city for any type of tourist, seasoned or green. There are so many things to see and do within the city that the possibilities are virtually endless. If you have four days to explore London, here are some of the sightseeing activities that may be fun.

On the first day, you could book the Magic of London Tour. It starts out with a private tour of the Tower of London. You are met at the drawbridge and taken into the site before it even opens to the public. Your guide will take you to see the crown jewels before leading you to the Scaffold site and Torture exhibition.

After leaving the tower, you will be taken to watch the Changing of the Guard ceremony, then to a short river cruise and then on to a traditional pub for lunch (not included in the rate). After lunch comes the Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's Cathedral and then on to Knightsbridge, where you will find some of London's most famous shops. In Harrods a traditional afternoon tea will be served in the Terrace restaurant located in the store.

The next day, you could go to the historic London Zoo. The zoo is run by the Zoological Society of London and houses over 600 species. Two new exhibits have opened recently, the Gorilla Kingdom and Clore Rainforest Lookout.

That evening, how about a dinner Cruise on the River Thames? The Bateaux London will take you down River Thames where you will enjoy the sights of London while dining on a four course meal. Live entertainment is a cabaret.

On day three, why not the Bath, Windsor, and Stonehenge tour? You will first visit the royal town of Windsor with free time to explore the town and see the sights, stores, bookshops, etc. that it has to offer. From Windsor, you will head on to Stonehenge. This is the most famous prehistoric monument in the world. After Stonehenge, the tour stops at a 600 year old coaching inn for a traditional English lunch (not included in rate) and then off to Bath to see where Roman soldiers relaxed in the sacred waters.

A Duck Tour would be a nice way to spend your last day in London. Enjoy a drive through London in this amphibious vehicle past many of its famous landmarks before plunging in to the River Thames for a daytime river tour.

If you are planning a trip to London, try and book as early as possible to get the best rates available, and go through one company who can package all of your trip components together to save you money and the hassle of scrambling around to get everything in order.
