The child with straight A's just knows she's the smartest kid in the school. When her actions start demeaning other children, there is a serious problem. The kid that makes the most touchdowns and three-pointers feels like the toughest kid around. When his attitude becomes one of better not mess with me, it has entered a very dangerous area. It is very good for parents and teachers to encourage greatness from their children and students, but a spoon full of humility and a pinch of meekness should be added as well. A student with amazing grades can be encouraged to tutor other students and thus gain an understanding of the struggles some have. A great athlete can be asked to teach special needs kids or to volunteer at the Special Olympics to ensure that meekness remains a part of his character as his skills increase.
With great victories one should celebrate, but one should also never forget to shake the hands of rivals and should always remember that in the next game, the rivals could very well be the victors. With positions of power, one should take care to appreciate all the hard work each member of the team gives to the whole. Learning to appreciate others with a spirit of meekness and humility will foster environments where people will work together more cohesively and accomplish greater objectives. After King Argoz began to value his subjects, his Kingdom saw great growth and improvement.
