The last month of the year is a long-awaited time not only for children. And all the while you can eat, drink and be very merry at the many nearby restaurants and bars. Winterparade's last night promises to be quite the New Year's Eve bash.

There are many great things about celebrating Christmas in Amsterdam. First of all, there are several churches that you can visit no matter what your particular affiliation is. This means that you will be able to still enjoy your favorite holiday services, without having to worry about not being in you home church. There are several religious monuments and shrines that you can visit during your stay, which will make your Christmas even more memorable.

The Path Tuschinski is one of the few cinemas open on Christmas Day, and is offering a special screening of The Wizard of Oz at 10:30, as well as several other films throughout the day. The Concertgebouw (www.concertgebouw.nl) is offering special classical Christmas concerts, on 24, 25 and 26 December and will cost from 13-75, although reduced-price tickets may be available last minute.
