5 Ways to stay stress free this Christmas

For most adults from the moment we get up until the moment we go to sleep our lives can be full of things that we have to do for one reason or another. Of course, we don't always want to do these things, but we do them anyway out of necessity.

Adult life can be extremely busy and stressful so we must take every possible opportunity to relax with our friends and family. With the right approach Christmas can prove to be an excellent opportunity to have real fun. Unfortunately, many of us find ourselves feeling stressed at this time of year and return to work just as tense and exhausted as before we left it.

So we would like to give you an early Christmas present, 3 tips to help you have a stress-free merry Christmas
5 Ways to stay stress free this Christmas

Tip 1: Get Organised, Get Happy

Believe it or not Christmas shopping can be fun, that's right fun. Buying the perfect gift for a member of your family or a friend can leave you with a warm glow and a huge smile all day long. The secret to enjoying your Christmas shopping is to get organised early. Get a list of all the people you have to buy for and then decide what you're going to get each person before you even leave the house. You may even want to consider doing a little research online so you know exactly what you are getting and from where before you hit the shops. Not only will this mean you spend less time fighting the crowd of shoppers around you for space, it also makes it far less likely that you will cause yourself further stress by spending more money than you should

When it comes to food shopping at Christmas, the trick is to get a little at a time. You don't have to get everything in one shopping trip. You may also want to consider shopping at a quiet time of the night or day so you can stroll around the supermarket without the push and shove of a crowd

As for things like wrapping presents and cooking, give yourself plenty of time, make sure you have everything you need within reach and enjoy listening to music or watching a film you love while you do it.

Tip 2: Learn To Delegate

Your enjoyment of Christmas is just as important as anyone else's. Don't sacrifice your happiness running around after others, delegate. If you have a list of tasks you need to complete then why not share them out amongst your loved ones. The old saying is true: A problem shared is a problem halved. For example, if you're cooking Christmas Dinner for your loved ones, ask them to help. Ask people to peel or mash, ask people to set the table or even cook a dish and bring it with them. Getting everyone involved will not only lighten your workload, but the extra time it frees up for you to spend relaxing with your loved ones is something everyone will enjoy

Tip 3: Be a Realist Not a Perfectionist

Not everything will go to plan. There, we said it. Does it really matter if things are not 100% perfect?

Sometimes the things that don't go to plan turn out to be the things we enjoy and remember the most. Striving to achieve perfection so that everyone else will enjoy themselves will lead to stress and disappointment so be a realist and not a perfectionist and enjoy your Christmas for what it really is.

Enjoy your Christmas
