For many online business owners, and offline, for that matter, it is important to have exposure to the right people, to promote their business. This will be no surprise to most of you. To go one step further, it is important the business aims its advertising or promotion to the right people, interested in what they have to offer. This is called targeted marketing, or traffic generation, in the case of online businesses.
I am going to explain one method, among the myriad of options available, being article marketing. Whilst this may sound very complex at first, it is in fact, a very affective, and relatively easy form of marketing to implement. The way it works is that you write a short article giving advice about a topic, in such a way that you provide useful information to the reader, and provide an incentive for them to read more about your product or service, through the information in the biography box, or text at the bottom of the article. In this way, you are providing a source of hopefully, valuable and useful information, whilst also providing a link for your reader to follow through on.
Article marketing, in my opinion, whilst it takes a little time to write, is a relatively easy method of traffic generation, as I am writing about topics that I know something about, as well as being interesting to me. I sincerely hope that your business is interesting for you, as this will greatly influence your writing, and style. If your material is not interesting to write about, you may wish to look at an alternative business. Sorry if that is a little direct.
However, remembering that you know a great deal about your topic, through daily involvement, it is not a big ask to put a few words together on a subset of your knowledge base. An article is not a thesis, or 500 page book. It is a written piece on a given topic, designed to answer a specific question, or query. However, a skilfully written article, will also motivate the reader to find out more, from the information you have provided. This is your payback, effectively.
Before you recoil in horror, and say you can't write, I invite you to at least try. One way is to pretend you are talking to a friend, or colleague, and imagine you are having a one way conversation, or mini lecture. Again, please excuse the image, but I think you get the point. I have found this method works for me, and it allows me to write what comes naturally.
My point with the above, is that you do know many things, particularly about your job your product, or your business, and you do have something to tell others about it. It is a case of practicing, and then writing, and submitting to your favourite article directory. The reason this works, is that these directories are resource rich areas, where articles across a wide variety of topics are written, and will allow others, searching, to find the information they want.
It is one of the best ways I know of to provide a high quality service to others, educate and inform, as well as provide a healthy traffic flow for my business. How about you?
