Britain Goes Technology Mad This Christmas

Are you wondering what the top presents will be this Christmas?

A recent study carried out by Ofcom suggests that when it comes to the UK's top Christmas presents in 2010, the latest technology will play the leading role both in terms of what we purchase and even how we choose to purchase it.

The study shows that of all European nations, Britain is the nation which has embraced new technology most quickly and continues to do so. It would seem that the people of Britain are always ready to try out new technology and have most willingly purchased technologies such as Broadband, Digital Television and Smart Phones more quickly than any other nation surveyed .

The report also states that of all Europeans, it is the British who do the most Online shopping with online shopping expected to generate around 6bn for the UK economy this Christmas alone. It is also British people who are most likely to use their mobile phone for social networking purposes. Given this fact it is no surprise that almost eighteen percent of residents in the United Kingdom currently have a smart phone of some kind and this figure is expected to continue to rise.

With this kind of attitude towards new technology Britain is beginning to adopt a reputation for being a nation of technological innovators and is an exceptionally lucrative market for manufactures to break into

This Christmas it is expected that Apple products will be at the top of the technological hit list of most wanted Christmas presents with IPADs, Iphones and Ipods creating huge demand amongst old and young alike.

However, with Britain's new found appetite for all things technological, it seems the nation is always waiting for a new contender to produce the very latest technological innovation
