The Moon's Influence: Natural Childbirth

If you have come to speak to doctors, nurses or other medical staffs regarding the natural childbirth, you would come to learn that most pregnant mothers have encountered false symptoms of the expecting during the full mood period. The moon influence is so strong that it causes the incident of contractions known as "Braxton Hicks". But this is not always discernible to all mothers. Some cases would have the mothers enduring much pain to the extent of thinking that it's time for their babies to be delivered, rushing to hospitals and end up realizing there is no cervical dilation. There are mothers hit with disappointment, some relieved and mostly worried.

Perhaps the primary reason more staffs are required during the full moon is because the number of misunderstandings aroused would be higher hence the hospitals need more people to attend to these expectant mothers. Although the moon influence often causes false signs, the breaking of the amniotic sac is also most likely to happen during this time frame. It has been proven that births are more probable during the full moon. If you could conduct a research you would probably find out that those mothers who have the water breakage during full moon often give birth on or close to the full moon date. This is mainly due to the moon's gravitational haul that affect the amniotic fluid like how it causes direct influence onto the sea water.

It is a natural act that the woman's body will prepare for the natural childbirth. From there, the amniotic sac will eventually distend so that it can easily break should there be pressure. The labor contractions will exert pressure onto the sac under usual circumstances but if there happens to be a moon influence, the pressure will mostly come from the moon then the amniotic sac will start to burst, either with or without the labor contractions. Should the amniotic sac bursts without other common signs, the obstetrician would often induce the birth as the breakage of the sac is rather dangerous.
