There are multiple events daily unfolding on the World Wide Web on a daily basis. Long distance education, internet marketing, web site designing are some common activities online. Now that cyberspace has entered our lives in a big way, it will have its effects on us in different dimensions.

Cyber bullying has emerged as the most dreaded disease of the 21st century. It is fearful since it has its web lined on kids, not to mention impressionable people and single women. It kicks its effects through cell phone harassment, correspondence of sexual nature, ugly videos on blogging sites. What starts as a habit becomes a frenzied passion, and later on, victims become so attached and dependent to the bully, that it is easy to play the game.

How bullies act?

Bullies begin by attaining little tidbits about you, your stream of studies, your habits and general nature. Then tertiary knowledge comes in, such as whether you live with alcoholic parents, or whether you get abuses daily. They tend to encourage you almost like unseen guardians and show you the way to live a better life. You begin gaining a new way of life, entirely against what you are living currently.

Cyber bullying issues have crept up in many corners of the world. Most of them have resulted because victims kept this private even from friends and parents. Your mails and cell phone texts cannot be checked independently and this helps cyber bullying. You will notice that these bullies do not release their own valid info and never come on webcams.

Precautionary measures

Care to remember never to post photos of your close friends on the net. Never disclose your address openly. Make your profile on MySpace or Facebook discreet without complete knowledge of your professional career. If you continue getting offensive mails from a particular id, report immediately to concerned authorities.

Thanks to relevant Cyber bullying laws, your entity is protected if you share your grievances with these authorities or at least your parents. Do not be a Facebook addict. Rather keep its use to a bare minimum. It is better to ply games online than indulging in disclosure of important details over mails or chats. You never know the other person impersonating as an Indonesian may be living in your neighborhood.

For parents, it is urgent to keep an eye on your kid's online dealings. Do not ignore their deeds even if you are unaware of Cyber world. Make sure you do not share your banking details and other financial info with minors. Approach Cyber bullying campaigns and inform them your kid's situation.
