Useful Rehab Treatment Information

The term rehab treatment is a short form of rehabilitation treatment which is designed to facilitate a process of recovery from injury, illness, addiction or a disease. However this treatment varies from person to person depending on the type of rehab that is needed. This treatment could be for drug or alcohol addiction, any kind of internal or external injuries or heart stroke. Let us learn the different types of rehab treatments provided.

Inpatient Treatment

Inpatient treatment is a one of the type of treatment in which a patient is provided with 24 hour care. This treatment includes both psychiatric and physical assistance. This is a high-maintenance treatment in which a constant medical supervision is placed in each resident. Inpatient care may be more efficient as it offers a very organized and classified atmosphere. Few popular types of inpatient treatments are pain, alcoholism or drug abuse and eating disorder treatments.

Outpatient Treatment

Outpatient is another type of treatment used to treat eating disorder, drug rehab and pain treatments. This type of treatment program could be useful for those who want to continue working or attend schools or colleges. Outpatient treatment programs differ depending on the patient's requirement and the facility, however they visit a couple of times every week for few hours. Outpatient treatments are preferred by many people due to its flexibility as these treatments are given on visiting a therapist, unlike an inpatient treatment which involves medication at one place.

Residential Treatment

Residential treatments are the ones which are done in a residential treatment centre and they refer to a level of care in the drug alcohol rehabilitation. Residential treatments are designed to aid clients for learning a clean and sober lifestyle via virtual and actual practice. This kind of treatment is effective for the people with long history of addiction and alcohol related behavior and leads to a drug-free lifestyle. Residential treatment programs are conducted for an average of 30 days.

Partial-hospitalization

Partial-hospitalization involves a combination of both inpatient and outpatient treatments in which an addict receives treatment during the day time and can go home at night time. This treatment resembles the nine to five work schedule routine of most people, however instead of going for work, the addict goes to the rehab treatment centre.

Types of Rehab Treatments

There are different twelve step programs conducted by the rehabs which are considered to be the most effective form of treatment by many addiction researchers. The other kind of rehab treatment is the Cognitive Behavioral Counseling (CBC) which is a type of psychotherapy, used for mental disorders like depression. Few more types of rehab treatments are medications, antidepressants and variety of nontraditional methods.

Thus rehab treatment would guide the addict or the sufferers to the right direction of empowerment.
