Kanchenjunga has always been remained as unconquered and virgin. With the area of 7000 square kilometers its the world's third highest peak and is also known as the most romantic mountain. The mountain Kanchenjunga is located on the Sikkim (India)- Nepal border which is as the part of the Himalayan mountain range. The Kanchenjunga mountain range consists of the 5 peaks with the total altitude of 28,169 feet or 8586 meters. The name Kanchenjunga means 'The five treasures of Snow' which refers to the five summits of the 8000 meters.

Major Trekking Routes from Kanchenjunga

Kanchenjunga North and South Face Base Camp:

The trek starts and ends with the small airstrip at Sukhetar which is located at the remote north east corner of Nepal. The trip takes to the most fascinating villages and forests that looks simply breath taking at the South Face Base Camp at Ramche before crossing the Mirgin La to the northern side of Kanchenjunga and Pang Pema Base Camp.

The majestic view of mountains, traditional villages that also shows the mountain rivers and scarcity of the rivers that gives the marvelous lifetime experience to the people.

Kanchenjunga South Face Base Camp:

This trek starts approaching from the South Face base camp and is known to be the World's third highest peak and is located at the eastern frontier of Nepal. The trek started after landing the STOL airstrip at Taplejung and also takes through the villages and the breathtaking forests for the awe inspiring South Face base camp at Ramche at 4360 meters before crossing the northern side of Kanchenjunga through the Mirgin La at the highest peak of 4663 meters. The excursion at glacier around Ramche is trully an amazing experience.

Kalimpong Treks:

Another special adventurous trek is done in Darjeeling which is in Kalimpong region from Relli, Pankhasari, and Neora to he highest point of the areas and Rochella is at 3400 meters. Trekkers also enjoy the scenic beauty of rich Himalayan flora, bird and wildlife which can be seen in the route.

Darjeeling/Gangatok-Pemanyangtse-Yoksum-Dzongri:

Its the most popular trek from Sikkim from Yuksom to Dzongri and Goccha La that offers the magnificent view. There are basically two peaks in the Dzongri area in the western part of Sikkim, Thingchen Khang and Jopunob has been declared as the 'trekking peaks' that actually means that they are free of the royalty payment.
