Special Birthday's: 21st Birthday Gifts For A Son Or Daughter

A 21st birthday has more significance depending on where you live because in the USA it's official you can drink now but even if you have been drinking since you were 18, like in the UK, a 21st is more than this. It is the time you really become an adult, from 18 years old really you're just a young adult, playing at being an adult and prone to making bad decision and still needing to be bailed out and supported, especially by mom and dad. By the time you hit 21 your parents will really stand back and say this is your life so live it well, the decisions you make will be your own and you will start to know the type of person you are.

To be honest, it's a little scary and you need to be reminded of the person you are trying to be by the people who have taken care of you - this will really be meaningful and a treasure. A gift at this special time to remind you of everything you have already achieved will help ground you, so putting together a photo album of all the special memories your 21 year old has, will give them a bit of perspective as well as being significant. You are literally handing over their lives to them, here is what you have already done but now it's up to you.

Here are some other ideas for unique and personal gifts for your son or daughter:

A Fine Watch: it's time for you to tell the time. A watch is especially poignant if your child suffers with lateness, as many young adults do.

A Piece Of Jewellery: Something you have engraved with special words, a necklace or locket, cuff links or a bracelet.

Video Camera or Camera: for them to record their own memories, this is especially good if they're going abroad with friends or just on holiday.

A Holiday: sending them away to have some fun especially if they have just finished their degree or are studying.

For the parents: you're job is never done but really it'll be a lot more worrying and less doing which could be worse but at least you can distract yourself now with having your own life, so go out and enjoy it! Any purchases you make on line should be done so from a reputable source and have a visible security certificate to protect your card and personal details from anyone who would abuse them.
