Senegal is notable for its historic sites around the capital city. The colonial island town of Saint Louis is attractive due to its long historic and colonial architecture. There are various national parks like Niokolo-koba National Park that is a World Heritage Site protected by the country. There are two parks one along Senegal river called Langue de Barbarie National Park and Djoudj National Bird Sanctuary. Some of the wildlife that can be seen in the country includes elephants, lions and hippos.
