Making More Out of the Christmas Experience

Making More Out of the Christmas Experience

The calendar year is a long one. But we have birthdays, anniversaries, weekends, holidays and festivities to look forward to that make the waiting easy. One such grand festival is Christmas. It is like winding up the year in happiness and leaving behind all the sorrow and looking to start a New Year afresh.

Every Christmas is the same and there seems to be no difference between the past one to the present. Why not make something more out of it and make it memorable, year after year? Go on a holiday abroad, call a family get together, reunite with old friends and just enjoy the essence of being a Christian.

One very innovative way to make your child's Christmas memorable is to do things together. Making or creating stuffs together form the best kind of memory to a child to look upon at later years. Doing christmas arts & crafts will be quite fun for a child and parent time together.
Making More Out of the Christmas Experience

Start with Christmas decorations. Take out that old box of knick knacks and pour out all that you think might make a suitable ornament for the tree. Cut it, snip it, glue it and stick it to make something like an angel, a spruce tree, a wreath, Santa Claus or just about anything thast springs up in your and your kid's mind.

Try making cards for teachers, mom, dad, sister, brother and grandparents. This would be a great way to instill sense of what a family is all about in your child. Probably it will help you give some perspective as well, that is, if you require it. There are loads of options in the internet to look for ornament ideas, craft ideas, etc which might come handy to develop something of your own.

Painting is a great stress reliever, for you and an excellent learning experience for your child. Take a seasonal theme and start painting. You can print a picture from the internet or take inspiration from old fairy tale books or Christmas cards. Got a bookworm in house? Make a bookmark out of old Christmas cards. The effort is less but the results are tremendous.

You could make napkin holders with beaded wires. Every house needs napkin holders at the dinner table. Why not make it more creative and unique? The old box beneath the bed or under the closet will always contain something to suit the occasion. There is where your raw materials are. Does grandma like brooches? Make one out of the broken hair clip.

Spend quality time during Christmas and go crafty to make lovely Christmas decorations out of old things for friends and family. Make something more out of this commercialized festival.
