Wrist Pain Treatment

In this day and age of computers pda's and cell phone's its no wonder why so many people are suffering from wrist pain. Wrist pain can effect anybody from young adults to senor citizens. It is very important know the causes of wrist pain so you can prevent it if possible.

Some of the Main Causes of Wrist Pain:

1. Repeatedly using your arm or hand in the same motion for an extended period of time.

2. If you fall and land on your arm or wrist can cause a wrist fracture.

3. If your wrist starts to swell it can be the start of carpal tunnel syndrome

4. If your posture is not correct. This can cause your wrist unneeded strain.

A Few Remedies That Can Help With a Hurt Wrist:

1. Try not to use your wrist as much. It might sound easy, but it is easier said than done. I am guilty of typing away even after my wrist start to hurt. If you have a job that involves typing, It can be even harder.

2. Drinking water is a very simple remedy that most people over look. Your body requires a lot of water to function properly, and most people do not drink enough.

3. Peppermint oil is great for relieving some of the pain, but you must mix it with another oil so it doesn't burn. You can cut it with vegetable oil or olive oil. Just run it onto the area that hurts and it will numb it. Although effective, the numbing only last for a few minutes.

4. Take a lot of breaks when your doing an activity that aggravates the pain. If only for a few moments, it will greatly reduce the amount of pain.

5. You can take over the counter drugs, but be careful because these only mask the pain. If your not careful you can become dependant on these medications.

6. A wrist sprint can also be used as a last chance method to stop the pain. They do compress the wrist, and this is not always the best thing for pain.

7. Exercise you wrist and relax them as often as you can.

8. Try the exercises after getting out of a hot shower or bath. The hot water helps the blood flow, and makes exercising your wrist less painful.

Try these remedies, and see how much they can help you. There are many more home remedies you can try, and sometimes they do tend to work better than pain med's in the long run.
