Going on Holiday - Avoid these three money drainers

If you are planning on packing up your things and going on holiday you will probably want to ensure that you have everything you need to enjoy your time away. However, like most people you may well be throwing your money away without even realising it. So if you are planning on jetting off and enjoying a holiday make sure the only thing you find drained away is your stress

Money Drainer 1: Clothes

We all want to feel and look good on our holidays, but more often than not we are all guilty of over-spending when it comes to clothes shopping. Not only does this excess shopping lead to over-spending before we go on holiday, but it can often cost us more when we have our luggage weighed in at the airport.

When you go clothes shopping for your holidays, it is best to kit yourself out with a set of good basic day and night clothes which you can mix and match to create new outfits.

Money Drainer 2: Toiletries

Many people fill their suitcase with huge new bottles of shampoo, conditioners, shower gel and Sun Tan Lotion only to end up leaving it behind at the end of their holiday because they are fed up of carrying it around or simply cannot fit it in their suitcase

Money Drainer 3: Buying Branded Items

This seems to happen particularly to people who are staying in self-catering accommodation. When going shopping in local supermarkets or shops, don't just purchase a particular brand of product simply because you are amazed that they have it or because it's the only brand you recognise. By purchasing "local" brands you can save a significant amount of money over the course of your holiday
