Pole Fitness Is Not Just For Strippers

Pole dancing, or pole fitness, is not just for exotic dancers anymore! This burgeoning industry may have evolved from seedy strip clubs and may still carry a stigma but now women of all backgrounds and ages are discovering the benefits of this workout and can buy pole dancing poles for their own homes.

It may be intimidating to sign up for your first pole dancing studio class and you may even be embarrassed but you will quickly learn that pole fitness is quite an impressive workout. Pole dancing lessons can be empowering, they can help you feel sexy again and are actually quite fun.

Is pole dancing really a workout? When you take your first spin on the pole, you'll really discover just how much fun pole fitness is! You may not even realize how much of a workout pole fitness is. It actually works your arms, legs and core by performing the various spins, inversions and dance moves.

Your regular yoga or gym clothing is fine for class and practicing on your own pole dancing equipment. You don't have to be nude! While pants are fine for beginner classes, you will find that you will need some skin exposure on your legs to perform the more advanced moves- a typical outfit for the advanced classes include a sports bra and shorts. You can go barefoot your first few classes but eventually you are encouraged to wear shoes and boots which will help strengthen your calf muscles and look even more graceful.

A few things to keep in mind during your first pole class include not to use any oils or lotions right before class which will make you and your classmates slip. You'll also want remove jewelry to avoid scratching the poles.
