Don't Lose Yourself In Your Business, It Will Only Damage Your Efforts

You never realize how much you depend on the internet, until you no longer have access to it. We have been doing some upgrades here at the office and of course we included our servers. Im sure youve heard the phrase if it isn't broke dont fix it. Yea, you guessed it, Murphys law got us. This past week our internet has been up and down like a seesaw at middle school during recess. Just when I get in the middle of something, boom its down again. I snatch my laptop and off to Starbucks I go again. Back at the office Im pacing an biting my nails as I anxiously wait for my service to come back on line. Oh My God! Im addicted to the internet. Oh My God! When did this happen? I have two brother-in-laws that spend a lot of time playing World of war craft and I thought they were addicted, not me.

As a network marketer of course I spend a good amount of time working on the internet. Writing my blog, posting videos, answering emails, doing research, generating leads, building websites, etc., etc. But this is my job so I never thought of it as being addictive. But what the heck, I have an addictive personally, so it could happen very easily. I purchased a laptop to take with me on vacation, but it was a little heady to be carrying around all day , Id have to leave it in the hotel. So I bought a mini so I could have it with me all the time in addition to my I phone. Lets say someone ask something I cant answer, I'll Goggle it. Or Im searching Wikipedia, checking out someones website. It just goes on and on. Its no wonder I dont have time to be texting (I hate texting). You always hear the phrase put your business on Auto pilot. Any hard core network marketer, when you pin them down, is going to tell you its not exactly , really, truly, honest to goodness auto pilot. What that means is you put your business on auto pilot to free up time to improve your present position. A true entrepreneur knows, now that they have their business running in the background generating income, its time to get busy researching and gaining knowledge that will take them to the next level and here we are back on the internet. Maybe shooting videos, writing articles or contacting other entrepreneurs to exchange ideas etc. So...Its true, Im addicted. Hum.Ive heard there is actually a 12 step program for computer addiction. Think your a candidate?

Wikipedia defines addiction as an addiction is a chronic neurobiological disorder that has genetic, psychosocial, and environmental dimensions. Well Im not that bad. Maybe just a little obsessive. So along with the upgrades to the office, Ive decided Ill upgrade my lifestyle. Something I realized while writing this article, in my busy schedule there is very little if any me time. What happened? Like many others I enjoy what I do so much, I started believing that working on the computer was actually me time and its not. Me time should be something besides work even if you enjoy your work. Theres a beautiful park at Fort Mason, almost across the street. Im going to start using it, walking the dog or just laying on the grass and watching the clouds pass by, me time. Maybe Ill walk over to the Marina and watch the boats sailing in the bay or go to the gym. Me time. Im upgrading to a minimum of 2 hours a day for me time. No I phone or computer, just me and the world (and my lovely wife, sometimes, of course) doing whatever it is I feel like as long as it is not work. Thats what Im doing. What are you going to do? My readers would love to hear from you.

Your business plan should always include some rock solid me time. You will be amazed how much more your going to accomplish in even less time. The two hours you dedicate to me time will come back two fold. Now if youll excuse me, Im going to head over to the gym and go a couple rounds with the local champ.lol

If you have any question, post your comments, Ill get back to you.

God Bless and have a great day
