Couples With Kids Exploring Barcelona

A holiday that includes two families can be one of the best ways to please everyone. You get a couple of adults to share the culture of the area, while the kids get their friends along, too. Still, no matter how close your two families are, you're going to need a bit of space to yourselves. This is why booking accommodation within an apartment building could be your best option.

Since you are on holiday together you probably won't want to be right next door to each other - but you don't want to be too far away either. This is why apartment buildings are great. With an apartment you can choose the room you want, keeping a good buffer between parties. In this way you won't be infringing on your friends' privacy, but won't be like strangers either.

A happy medium will be renting an apartment on the same floor as your friends. This lets the kids visit each of the rooms without ever really leaving the sight of the adults responsible for them. You are also just a few steps from your own door after enjoying a nice meal and a couple of glasses of wine.

Best of all, however, is that booking apartments gives you a lot more choice than say booking hotel rooms. You can pick exactly what facilities you require. This could be very useful if you are travelling with young kids.

Even if your two families need altogether different amenities, this doesn't mean you have to live in opposite sides of the building. Apartment buildings generally have more varied rooms, even between those on the same floor.

The area you look to base yourself in will be just as important as the actual apartment itself. When you are two families, meaning double the amount of kids, you will probably want somewhere peaceful. Although Barcelona city centre is always a busy place, the same cannot be said for all neighbourhoods.

Eixample is a residential neighbourhood mainly but is one of the plushest in the city. You can expect your apartment to reflect its setting. Some of the biggest residences in the city can be found here and, as you can expect, there is certain ambience in the area. It is not all pubs and clubs but a peaceful and leisurely neighbourhood. The perfect environment for kids with lots of parks and open space.

El Born is a place where many young families choose to base themselves in the city. This is because it offers a good slice of family fun. Its quaint, tree-lined streets are perfect for pushing around prams and buggies, and are also within toddling distance of the beach.

In Sant Antoni you will find the superb BCN apartment building, which is just ideal for families. It is just a few subway stops from the centre of the city, meaning you can sample it without having to stay there. Sant Antoni is a little further from downtown, but this only means it is even more peaceful.

Another of the attractions of Sant Antoni is the ancient food market. This is one of Barcelona's rarest areas, where you can experience the true culture of the Catalans. You can also pick up a few bits and pieces to make a true feast for both holidaying families.

Even if you are two of the closest families, when you go on holiday you need your own space. This is something that you'll find an apartment easily provides. Renting an apartment is almost like having your own holiday home. With entertainment and peaceful living provided in areas like Eixample and El Born, you're all set for experiencing a great family holiday. One that the kids will talk about for years to come.
