Arizona has over 275 ghost towns and many more camps and other smaller historical locations. Arizona's ghost towns are concentrated in the Northwest central and Southeast portions of the state. From the Grand Canyon to the Petrified Forest, travel to this southwestern state is a dream come true for nature lovers, and an astounding surprise for city dwellers.

Population figures for the year ending July 1, 2006, indicate that Arizona was, at that time, the fastest growing state in the United States, exceeding the growth of the previous leader, Nevada , and is currently the second.

If you aren't interested in the desert climate Arizona which predominates in the central and southern portions of the state, go northward, where you will find mountain ranges, lakes, pine forests, and of course, canyons and gorges.

Visitors have flocked to Arizona for many years, as evidenced by resorts such as the old Jokake Inn. These days people come for the same reasons - the weather, the natural beauty of the land, and now also for Arizona's famed spas and golf courses.
