Learn About Wonderful Holidays In Malta And Gozo

Over a million visitors are tempted to take holidays in Malta and Gozo each year, and it is clear to see why. With near sub-tropical climate under a clear blue sky and the waves of the Mediterranean lapping against the shore, a break here is always something to look forward to.

From the first moment off the plane, what strikes you is the captivating contrast of color throughout the islands. Quite apart from the azure sea and turquoise skies, the honeyed walls of the colonial buildings, marked against the lush green countryside, and the rugged coastline take the breath away. Too many, this looks picturesque and serene, but belie to modernity of the place too.

For those looking at a city break, Valetta makes an ideal choice. The islands' capital, it is steeped in history and tradition befitting such an important port of old. It is widely accepted as being one of the finest cities in all of Europe; testimony to which are the stunning fountains, gardens and period architecture.

If it is culture that you are after, Malta and Gozo deliver exceptionally well. With over 350 churches across the islands, museums aplenty and historic tours, there is sure to be something of interest. No more is this typified than within the walls of St John's Cathedral back in Valetta.

Malta is also a great destination for divers, with wonderful dives off the coast and into the caves that eat into the shore. For truly great adventures however, a trip to the mile long island of Comino with its stunning blue lagoon has to be considered.

The quality of resorts across the islands is high, with most being four or five star. Though it is holidays in Malta that are the most popular, increasingly people are heading to Gozo. With connections via helicopter from the international airport too, a great start to a great time is assured.
