Plus size leggings are really popular with curvy girls as they look fabulous worn with flattering longer length tunic tops. No matter how skinny you are though, don't be tempted to combine the crop top trend with leggings. Unless you're starring in an aerobics video this is not a good look! Instead layer them under skirts, dresses and long line tops such as a boyfriend shirt.

Wet look leggings
Sometimes known as waxy leggings, wet look leggings have a strong shine to them that makes them look at little like rubber or PVC but less extreme - and much more comfortable to wear! For this reason they're perfect for adding a dramatic, rock'n'roll edge to your outfit. Use them to toughen up an LBD or wear with a long tunic top and gladiator sandals.
Lace leggings
By contrast, lace leggings give a much softer, more feminine look. Use these to add interest to any plain outfit in place of tights. As this style gives less coverage they're best worn with skirts or dresses rather than in place of jeans or trousers.
Detailed leggings
There are so many styles of embellished leggings available now so if you hate to be a plain Jane it's a great way to express your personality. From subtle ruching and stud detailing at the ankle to sparkling sequins or fierce, flesh-revealing slashed leggings, it's an easy and cost-effective way get a number of dramatically different looks and make your wardrobe work harder.
Jeggings
No doubt you've heard the term 'jeggings' bandied about but it it's all Greek to you, jeggings are basically a cross between jeans and leggings. If you like your jeans super-skinny then jeggings are the natural progression. Denim look leggings are perfect for casual days worn with a tunic or shirt and flat pumps or sandals.
Patterned leggings
For the fashion adventurer, leggings are also available in any number of bold patterns and colours, from floral prints to abstract patterns. This look isn't for the faint hearted but if you've got the legs for it why not give it a go? It's sure to get you noticed!
